Air Force One to have an AI Wingman 🛫

The U.S. Air Force is one step closer to pairing pilots with AI-controlled wingmen, following the successful trial of an unmanned jet directed by advanced AI. The jet, an XQ-58A Valkyrie, showcased its mission capability through a three-hour flight steered by machine-learning systems. This exciting development is paving the way for a future with autonomous aircraft in the skies.

Chinese Competitor to Meta’s Llama 2 🇨🇳

In a bold move to challenge Meta, Alibaba opensourced two powerful AI models, Qwen-7B and Qwen-7B-Chat, each boasting 7 billion parameters. These models will be freely accessible worldwide, leveling the playing field for smaller businesses and scholars. However, high-traffic companies must acquire a license, mirroring Meta's policy with its Llama 2 model.

Toyota to Mass Produce RoboTaxis 🚖

Autonomous driving company Pony.ai is teaming up with Toyota to develop fully driverless robotaxis. This partnership, backed by a $139 million investment from GAC Toyota Motor, aims to blend Toyota's electric vehicles with Pony's self-driving tech and robotaxi network platform. Despite a rocky journey since its 2016 inception, including setbacks in testing and personnel changes, Pony.ai perseveres and is reportedly valued at $8.5 billion.

Toyota has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in Pony.ai since the companies first teamed up in 2019.
