“All Tools” in ChatGPT ✨

OpenAI released a massive update of ChatGPT. The latest version “All Tools” now lets you seamlessly generate, edit, and chat with images, documents, and PDFs, analyze data, all at once within ChatGPT. You can even browse the internet and use DALL.E-3 together without manually switching!

The new update is being rolled out slowly to all Plus users.

AI Funding War Intensifies 🧧

Google is reportedly pouring a substantial $2 billion into Anthropic, intensifying the ongoing proxy war between tech giants vying for supremacy in the artificial intelligence domain.

Key Highlights:

• The deal includes $500 million now and up to $1.5 billion later, although the conditions are unclear. Amazon too has committed up to $4 billion to Anthropic, creating a significant funding gap between Anthropic and its competitors.

• Anthropic's internal documents indicate a plan to spend a billion dollars by 2024 to develop their next-generation model, "Claude-Next."

Amidst the demand for faster and more efficient AI processing, IBM Research unveiled 'NorthPole,' a dedicated computer chip inspired by the human brain, demonstrating a significant 22x speed increase for AI-based image recognition applications.

Key Highlights:

• NorthPole's unique design, incorporating a two-dimensional array of memory blocks and interconnected CPUs, enables rapid data processing and swift response times, outperforming existing chips by 22 times.

• NorthPole specializes in executing specific AI processes but is not suitable for training processes or supporting large language models like ChatGPT. Plans are in place to integrate multiple NorthPole chips to overcome current limitations and unlock even greater processing power.

• The chip's integrated architecture, blurring the boundary between compute and memory, significantly reduces the load on the host machine, making it more energy and space-efficient compared to common GPUs and CPUs.

Fact-Check Bard’s Responses with Google Search ✅

Google’s Bard can now respond in real time letting you see the answer as it's being generated. You can even switch between "Respond in real time" and "Respond when complete" options.

A "Skip response" button lets you stop Bard mid-sentence if you don't like the response being generated and type a new question or regenerate the response without waiting for the complete answer.

Google has added the ability to modify responses to be more "casual" or "professional", and to cross-verify answers with information in Search by clicking the Google logo in the bottom menu bar.
